Planting Churches in Alaska’s Arctic Circle [NAD]

How do you plant sustainable churches in villages made up of a few dozen to a few hundred people? How do you get missionaries, resources and supplies to tiny villages inaccessible by car? How do missionaries survive nine months of deep freeze followed by a couple months where blueberries, bears and mosquitos spring to life? How can the gospel be shared across, ethnic, cultural and tribal boundaries?

Those are some of the questions on pastor Nick Clark’s mind as he visits three villages in various stages of planting churches in Alaska’s Arctic Circle.

Follow along with Nick and you’ll meet folks like Tony, a young missionary; Jim, a bush pilot who risks his life for the indigenous people of Alaska; and Jackie, a village chief who braves the Arctic waters in baptism.
